Every pair is measured on you rather than estimated, and our team will steer you toward what genuinely suits your face shape and colouring instead of what is trending this month. If a frame you love does not work on you, we will say so, and then find you something close that does.

Our sunglasses range covers polarised lenses for driving and water glare, gradient tints for general daylight, and the classic aviator, wayfarer and square silhouettes that have outlasted every trend since. Ray-Ban and Carrera anchor the premium end; Gucci, Tom Ford and Burberry sit above them.

Prescription sunglasses are available in most frames we stock, including progressives. If you drive a lot, ask us about polarised versus plain tint before you decide, because the difference on an afternoon highway is considerable.

We stock daily disposables and monthly soft lenses, including toric lenses for astigmatism and multifocal lenses for presbyopia. Dailies suit occasional wear and anyone who would rather not deal with solutions; monthlies work out cheaper for regular daily use.

Before we sell you lenses we measure your corneal curvature and diameter, since a contact lens prescription is not the same as your spectacle prescription. You then wear a trial pair in store, and we teach insertion, removal and hygiene properly before you take any home.

Our children's collection is built for durability and comfort first: flexible TR90 and memory metal frames that spring back instead of snapping, spring hinges, silicone nose pads that stay put, and adjustable temple tips. Polycarbonate lenses are standard for children, because they are impact resistant.

Just as important, the frames have to be ones your child will actually wear. We let them choose from a shortlist that fits properly, which usually solves the argument at home. We also keep a note of the prescription and follow up when it is time for a recheck.

We fit single vision readers for people who only need help up close, and properly measured progressives for anyone who wants one pair that handles distance, middle and near without a visible line. There are also office lenses, which give you a wide, comfortable range from your desk to across the room, and are far better than progressives at a computer all day.

Progressives only work if they are measured correctly on the frame you have chosen, which is why we do fitting heights in store rather than estimating. Ready made readers off a rack have the same power in both eyes and no allowance for your pupillary distance, which is why so many people find them tiring.

Wraparound and semi-wrap frames with rubberised temple grips and nose pads hold position through running, cycling and gym work. For cricket and other impact sports, polycarbonate lenses are the sensible choice. Prescription sports eyewear is available, either directly glazed or with an insert behind the wrap.

For driving, polarised lenses cut reflected glare off wet roads and other vehicles, which is the single biggest comfort improvement most drivers notice. For evening and monsoon driving, we usually recommend a lighter contrast tint rather than a dark one, and an anti-reflective coating on your regular glasses to reduce headlight halos.
